This is an introductory course in childcare, suitable for anyone in the early stages of a career in childcare, or anyone considering entering the childcare profession, who does not want to commit to a longer programme of study. This would also be suitable for anyone wanting to improve parenting skills by understanding child development. Although the course is non-accredited, it gives an excellent grounding for a level 2 qualification in childcare, and covers much of the underpinning knowledge. For anyone using the qualification as a springboard to Level 2 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, all of the underpinning knowledge can be referenced over to the NVQ standards.
