2000 years before the Euro, there was single currency across Europe. The Roman empire stretched from the border of India to England's Solway shore and coins made in Constantinople or in London could be spent in any part of it. This workshop uses photos and examples of actual coins to examine the coinage of the Roman Empire in detail, starting with the coins of the Cesars and ending 400 years later with the collapse of the empire, showing how the coinage changed over time with the pressures of inflation.
A low powered magnifying glass might be of help (but is not essential) – magnification around x4 but not more than x8
