GCE ENGLISH LITERATURE AS
Tutor: Andy Hopkins - Duration: 3 x 10 weeks
Monday 12th September 2011 / 6.30pm - 9.00pm
trinity school
This 30 week course leads to an AS qualification. The course consists of one exam and two pieces of coursework. In the exam you will be asked questions on four texts about the way writers shape their stories: their narrative craft. The coursework pieces each focus on one play – one by Shakespeare and one by Arthur Miller, the great American writer. Both pieces of coursework are studies into the genre of tragedy. Each coursework piece is worth 20%, which means that both together make up 40% of the AS grade. The exam makes up the remaining 60% of your AS mark.

'The mix of classroom based teaching and support via various media, including podcasts, has been excellent!'
