This course will be delivered in the tutors own studio where you will be introduced to the basics of mould making using plaster. You can create your own mould from either a found object or your own clay form. You will experiment with slip casting and press moulds as well as decoration to create different outcomes. This will enable you to understand the basics involved in creating your own finished piece. This course is suitable for all levels.

This course caters for both beginners and the more advanced who wish to experiment with a variety of shapes, colours and textures to create your own slab built piece of pottery as well as’ throwing’ clay on the potter’s wheel in the tutor’s own studio. The course runs over 2 Saturdays giving you a chance to glaze any fired ceramics made the week before as well as making any finishing touches to your wheel thrown pieces of work.
