Pattern cutting made easy for those with an adventurous spirit Day one will involve making the pattern, cutting out the garment and day two, constructing and fitting the skirt.
A two day workshop for complete beginners at pattern cutting, you will draft your own skirt pattern, measuring, adjusting and fitting the garment and personalising your pattern.
The workshop will give you the skills to understand the construction of a skirt, and to make up the garment, learning techniques such as finishing seams, sewing darts, using a facing, attaching a waistband, pressing seams and hemming. You will learn how to control the machine, cut out fabric, press, tack and machine stitch
The workshop will introduce you to some basic sewing techniques and give you confidence to tackle bigger projects. Learn how to use your own sewing machine and get the best out of it. Individual help will be given and, enabling you to make a project all by yourself.
Please bring your own sewing machine, sewing equipment. Materials are required and listed on the course information. A small charge will be made at the course for specialist materials.
