The visible remains of Cumbria's rich and varied history can be found all around the county, not just in roman forts, mediaeval castles and abbeys but also in less obvious features like settlement patterns, field systems, village and town plans, buildings, roads, etc. This course aims to show you where to go, what to see and how it all fits in with the bigger picture of the county's history.
